These terms are written to be read. They are not a substitute for advice on your own transaction.
What this service is
Attainer is an online marketplace on which businesses in the United Kingdom are advertised for sale. We provide the advertising platform and the tools around it. We are not a party to any sale, we are not agents for either side, and we do not provide financial, legal or tax advice.
What we verify, and what we do not
Where a listing shows a trust badge, that badge describes exactly one check and its meaning is stated on the listing. We do not verify, audit or endorse the financial information a seller provides. Information marked as seller-provided is exactly that. Buyers must carry out their own due diligence and take their own professional advice.
Fees
We charge for listing packages, subscriptions and promotional placements. These are payable whether or not a sale completes. We do not charge a success fee, commission or any other fee calculated by reference to a completed transaction.
Funds
We do not receive, hold, transmit or direct any part of the consideration for a business. Sale proceeds are dealt with between the parties and their solicitors. Any communication appearing to ask you to send acquisition funds to us is fraudulent and should be reported immediately.
Scope of listings
Only whole businesses and controlling interests may be advertised: a sale of a company or a controlling stake of 50% or more, a sale of business and assets as a going concern, a franchise resale, or an online business. Minority interests, investment opportunities, fundraisings, loan notes and similar offers may not be advertised and cannot be represented on this platform.
Confidentiality
Sellers may list confidentially. Where they do, identifying information is held separately from the public record and is disclosed only in accordance with the disclosure controls the seller sets, including on execution of a non-disclosure agreement. Buyers who obtain information under an NDA are bound by its terms.
Acceptable use
You may not list a business you have no authority to sell, misrepresent a business, scrape or bulk-extract listings, or use enquiry and messaging tools to market unrelated services. We may suspend or remove any listing or account, and we suspend first where there is real doubt about a listing's legitimacy.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for the accuracy of listing content, for the conduct of any user, or for any loss arising from a transaction entered into through this platform.
Changes
We may change these terms. Where a change is material we will say so on this page and give notice before it takes effect.
